Aster Guardians Global Nursing Awards Dubai; Winner Announced

Kenyan national Anna Qabale Duba was awarded as the first-ever recipient of the Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award on Thursday.

On the occasion of the International Nurses Day, which celebrated globally on May 12, Kenyan national Anna Qabale Duba was crowned the first-ever recipient of the Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award on Thursday and bagged a cash prize of $250k after winning the reputable title.

She is the founder of Qabale Duba Foundation in Kenya and has been fighting against harmful cultural practices against women like early/forced marriage and female genital mutilation, alongside supporting women in Kenya through education, implementing peace-building activities, and also advocating for girl-child education.

Anna Qabale Duba is the first female from her village to earn a degree, and she has opened a school that educates the children in the morning and adults in the afternoon.

Moreover, she accepted the award from His Higness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, chairman of Dubai Airports, chairman and chief executive of Emirates Airlines and Group and chairman of Dubai World during a glittering ceremony at Atlantis Hotel, Palm Jumeirah.
